Manifolds, Symplectic Geometry, and Hamiltonian Mechanics
Symplectic geometry provides the most general framework for Hamiltonian mechanics: a phase space of allowable states of a system, as well as a way to encode the kinematics of the system. There are some systems where it is far more natural to view the phase space—and the kinematics—as
